On Friday June 5th, 2009, the British Ambassador to the Holy See, His Excellency Francis Campbell presented certificates to 32 participants of 22 different nationalities of an International Leadership Development Diploma Programme held in Rome and sponsored by the Craighead Institute in Scotland. ec4.FCJ Education Conference, in London — May 2009
Over 50 people came together for a conference on FCJ education on May 9. Participants included the leadership teams and school governors of the FCJ schools in Britain. There were also representatives from the other provinces of the FCJ European Network. Claire Sykes fcJ from the British Province gave input and Frances Kennedy fcJ, a general assistant to Sr Katherine Mary O'Flynn, General Superior, facilitated the day. Read more ...

The FCJ Society has committed personnel and financial support to the ‘Solidarity with Southern Sudan Project’, an initiative of the Union of International Superiors General. In April, after working with the Sisters of the Assumption in Eldoret, Kenya, Sr Katherine Mary O’Flynn fcJ, General Superior, went to Southern Sudan to visit Betty Ryan fcJ and Margaret Sheehan fcJ, (both Irish-born) who are missioned to this collaborative venture. claire thedrezFirst Profession of vows in Paris — January 2009
On January 3, 2009, the Feast of the Holy Name of Jesus Claire Thedrez made her first vows as a Faithful Companions of Jesus. Claire first met the FCJ sisters through their web-pages! Her postulancy was in London, England and her noviitiate in Nantes and Paris. Her profession ceremony was in the chapel of the FCJ school, Notre Dame de France, Paris XIII.

eleanor.Eleanor Redican fcJ receives a special merit award —Ireland November 2008
Congratulations to Eleanor Redican fcJ, who has received a special merit award for her outstanding contribution to Maternity Services in Ireland at The Maternity and Infant Awards Ceremony in association with Hibernian Health.  The Ceremony took place at the Shelbourne Hotel in Dublin and the awards were presented by the Minister for Health, Mary Harney.

gaby and cornelia.First Profession of Vows in Romania — September 2008.
Sisters Cornelia Vîrgă and Gabriela Lungu made first vows as faithful companions of Jesus at a concelebrated Mass in the parish Church of the Sacred Heart, Bucharest on 6 September 2008. An international group of FCJ sisters, several Companions in Mission, and many family members and friends of both Sister Cornelia and Sr Gabriela celebrated this wonderful occasion.   Read more ...

paris.Celebrations in Paris — April 5th 2008
Over 700 people gathered in Notre Dame Cathedral, Paris, for a Mass in honour of Marie Madeleine d'Houet, Foundress of the FCJ Sisters. There were many FCJ Sisters, FCJ school groups from France, Belgium, England and Ireland as well as more than a hundred of Marie Madeleine's family descendants. Imagine Notre Dame Cathedral full of people all with some link with Marie Madeleine! Read more ...

anouska 2.First Profession of Vows, Salford, England— September 2007
Sister Anouska Robinson-Biggin made her first vows as a faithful companion of Jesus on Saturday 1st September 2007 at Kersal Hill Convent Salford. Sister Anouska describes the day as 'the Saturday when dreams turned into reality and the ‘Yes’ I had said in the depth of my heart, and desired to say for so long, could be confirmed with the ‘public profession of my first vows.'
