Clare fcJ and Marion fcJ.Afra has already worked as a volunteer in West Timor with JRS. Maria Sunarni and Dewi Gallang are both psychologists, and Yustina Tukiyem has a background in administration. They will be working with JRS who are desperate for women volunteers, for drivers, social workers and administrators.

As of now, it seems that Yustina will go to Banda Aceh where her skills are most needed and the others will be in Medan in North Sumatra where they will work with refugees. Afra will go for at least six months whilst Dewi, Yustina and Narni will be available for about three months.

Clare Hand fcJ originally from England and Marion Dooley fcJ originally from Ireland, will also spend some shorter periods in North Sumatra.

Other FCJ sisters in Yogyakarta, Indonesia are involved locally in raising funds and in organizing donations of much needed supplies. They are also seeking to provide funds for many hundreds of Achenese students in Yogyakarta who see no hope for their future as many of whose families have lost everything or in some cases whole families have been killed.
