At the end of June 2001, a conference was held at Stella Maris (the FCJ Generalate), Broadstairs, England, where Sr. Paula Terroni (general superior) and her general assistants spent a week in dialogue with the Provincials and Area leaders and with FCJ and lay directors of FCJ apostolic works, on the topic:
"Globalization and the call to Justice".

Within the context of FCJ spirituality, the issues of globalization and justice were explored in order to discover ways in which we can, across all our ministries, serve our 'majority world', the poorest and most disadvantaged peoples of our world today.

There was great commitment to exerting influence to make globalization 'work' for poor people as well as for the rich and to bear in mind, in all our leadership decisions and actions, the question, "How will this affect the poor?"
