Mission to Mexico — September 6th, 2006

We rejoice with Patricia Binchy and the Province of the Americas as the Society establishes a community in Mexico.  On September 6th, Sisters Shirley Majeau, Nancy Mitchell and Silvana Toledo left Toronto for Mexico City to establish a community there. We are renting an apartment in a house belonging to another Congregation in the western part Prayer ritual before leaving for Mexico.of the city for an initial period of seven months, while Nancy, Shirley and Silvana become familiar with Mexico City.

Silvana has begun  theology studies at the Conferencia de Religiosos de México and Nancy has obtained employment as  a teacher of English in a language school. Shirley will accompany them as local leader and also investigate, with Nancy and Silvana, in which part of Mexico we could establish an FCJ presence long term.

We rejoice in this further expansion of God's mission in our Society and we pray that God may be glorified as our sisters serve their sisters and brothers in this vast and wonderful country.
