the Anniversary of the beginning of the FCJ Society,
has special importance for
Faithful Companions of Jesus and
FCJ Companions in Mission

Holy Thursday 1820 marked the beginning of the FCJ Society in the heart of the foundress, Marie Madeleine. Each year Faithful Companions of Jesus celebrate this special day in the liturgical life of the Church with renewed appreciation for the inspiration and fidelity of Marie Madeleine and with new desire to live her vision today. As our Constitutions say,

'This little Society' was founded through the instrumentality of Marie Madeleine Victoire de Bengy de Bonnault d'Houet (1781 - 1858).  It had its origin in Paris, France, in the night of Holy Thursday to Good Friday,  March 30th 1820. 'We follow in the footsteps of our Lord Jesus Christ with our Lady and the Holy Women....  We were founded... at the foot of the Cross'.

This year we are happy to mark Holy Thursday (which this year falls on April 5, the anniversary of Marie Madeleine’s death) by making some resources about her life and about Faithful Companions of Jesus today available on line.
