Upton student wins 'Catholic Women of the Year' Award

Rachael O’Sullivan, a Year 12 student at Upton Hall School FCJ in the Wirral, has recently been honoured with one of the “Catholic Women of the Year 2006” awards.

Khera Missan of the Shrewsbury Diocesan Youth Service nominated Rachael for this award.  Rachael attended the World Youth Day in Cologne which inspired her to become a volunteer with the Diocese of Shrewsbury Youth Service.

She also helps with Advent and Lent prayer programmes, with the sick in Lourdes, with youth St. Vincent de Paul in her parish and is a group Leader for a local Brownie Unit.

Rachael achieved all this while working for GCSE’s, being part of a loving family and playing the flute for fun, relaxation and enhancement of the liturgy.
