Lighting the Le Cheile Candle

As the new school year gets underway, there is a change in the trusteeship of the FCJ schools in Ireland. Presentation of symbols.

The legal process is in progress and the symbolic transfer of the trusteeship is taking place in each of the FCJ schools.

      Presentation of Symbols

The symbolic transfer has already taken place in FCJ Secondary, Laurel Hill and in the Colaiste, Laurel Hill in Limerick and at  FCJ Bunclody, County Wexford.   These pictures are taken from the events in Limerick and Bunclody.

The symbolic transfer will take place at  Bruff, County Limerick  later this term.

Sr. Maria, Provincial, speaks prior to handing over the licence and agreement; the candle is lit.

A top priority of the FCJ Society and of other Congregations in Ireland is to protect the ethos of their schools at this time of change.  The Le Cheile Trust was set up following the collaboration of 12 congregations including the FCJ  Society.

The Trust will carry out the increasingly complex legal and inspirational role of the Patron previously exercised by the congregations and it is established as a legal entity, under company law.

In setting up the Trust, the congregations wish:

The FCJ Ethos of the School and the Management of the School will remain unchanged.
