Brigid Halligan fcJ was awarded the OBE in the 2008 New Year's Honours List 2008.  The award is for services to Catholic education.  Brigid is Headmistress of Bellerive Catholic College FCJ, Liverpool, England.

Brigid told the Independent Catholic News: Personally I'm very humbled to have been nominated. I believe the greatest gift you can give young people is a sense of worth and dignity. A long education career makes you realise how little you know and how you cannot achieve anything without the support of others.

Bellerive FCJ Catholic College was rated "outstanding" by Government inspectors in November 2007 – the highest rating a school can achieve. Inspectors said: Leadership and management [here] are outstanding. The headteacher, senior leadership team and governors demonstrate a deep commitment to the college and provide a clear set of priorities to guide its development.

Loving Congratulations Brigid!
