Saturday, April 5th 2008, was a day of celebration for the FCJ sisters and their Companions in Mission. It was the 150th anniversary of the death of Marie Madeleine, the foundress of the Faithful Companions of Jesus, and her life and legacy were celebrated with great joy.
Everyone joined in the preparations

Bishop John Hine celebrated the Mass of the Sacred Heart at Stella Maris Generalate, Kent, England.

Marie Madeleine is buried in a simple tomb in the corner of the beautiful chapel at Stella Maris.

Father David Caine, the parish priest, Father Gus Kinnane, parish priest of St Teresa’s Ashford and a long time friend of the community, and monks from St Augustine’s Abbey in Ramsgate: Abbot Bernard, Father Paulinus, Father Dunstan, Father Thomas, and Father Benedict, concelebrated the Mass with Bishop Hine.
The chapel was filled to capacity. The FCJ sisters from the local communities and the international tertian community were joined by Companions in Mission, the friends who regularly celebrate Mass with us at Redriff and Stella Maris and some family members.

After the Mass, our guests enjoyed refreshments, socialised and watched a Power-Point presentation on the life of Marie Madeleine.
There were further celebrations on Sunday when the Loreto tertians and directors joined the FCJs for a celebration in honour of Marie Madeleine. AMDG.
