The Marie Madeleine d’Houet Prize for Religious Writing

Genazzano FCJ College, Melbourne, Australia

View of Genazzano College. This year we celebrate the 150th Anniversary of the death of Marie Madeleine de Bonnault d’Houet, the foundress of the Society Faithful Companions of Jesus.

As a way of commemorating this remarkable woman’s vision and mission the Genazzano FCJ College community inaugurated a prestigious annual award to be called The Marie Madeleine d’Houet Prize for Religious Writing.

The aim of this annual competition is to enable the students at Genazzano to explore and share ideas and issues that emanate from the religious and faith education to which the girls have been exposed at Genazzano.
Some of these pieces of work will be published in the school magazine and will become part of a permanent anthology which will be a reflective and responsive source document kept in the school archives. There will be four entry age groups reflecting the learning age and stage of the entrants. The competition will commence in the last week of Term 3 each year to coincide with the birth date of Marie Madeleine on the 21st September.
