Situated in the beautiful setting of Assisi, the Conference took as its theme:

and was attended by over 200 members of religious congregations and several laity. Nine FCJs participated in this four-day series of stimulating talks which were given by two presenters: Columban Missionary Sean McDonough who spoke on the History of the Universe; Climate Change, and Bio-diversity and the Australian theologian Denis Edwards who took as his topics: Ecology and the Eucharist; Ecology and the following of Jesus, and ended with a lovely reflection on the place of animals in the process of deifying transformation.

These reflections were all very much in keeping with our General Chapter commitment to take another look at all aspects of life ‘in the context of the new understandings of God in Creation’.

The multi-cultural gathering gave rise to very interesting conversation and group sharing. We came home with our hearts and eyes wide open to the mysteries of life, desirous of effecting change and of sharing the message that all of creation is in a process of transformation into God.
