THE CRAIGHEAD INSTITUTE
The Craighead Institute was founded from the Craighead Retreat House by Christine Anderson FCJ sixteen years ago with the help of a Notre Dame Sister. The Institute is an extension of the work of the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius and concentrates on the practical application and integration of the exercises in everyday life. The main vehicle for this is housing estates and also our work with groups and organisations in Scotland and abroad. The work of the Institute has a strong social justice component and believes in working directly with those in extreme poverty. Being Ignatian in outlook the work of the Institute is based on the experience of the people we work with, the social teaching of the church and social analysis, Ignatian and scriptural reflection and organisation for action.
