During these months when school has been done from home, have you been missing art lessons? Have you been missing religion lessons? Join us every Wednesday afternoon for a two-hour experience of prayer through art for students in grades 3-6.
Every Wednesday 1:00pm – 3:00pm
Facilitated Sr. Madeleine fcJ and Hanna Baltutis at the FCJ Retreat and Conference Centre, Calgary, Canada
Each lesson will combine a song, a short Scripture passage and explanation, a little prayer, an explanation of an art project, combined with a way to pray as you do the art. The prayer during art will be a guided reflection about your own life, faith, struggles or joys, or confusion about what we believe as Catholic Christians. After doing the art project and guided reflection, there will be time to share what you’ve made, if you like, as well as time to ask questions about your own faith as it is developing.
You can choose to do as many or as few of these sessions as you like. You can pick prayer topics that interest you or you can pick art projects that interest you—or you can do them all! They are inexpensive enough to be affordable for most students. We hope this opportunity will greatly enrich your life. Join us and see what you think!
This mini-retreat is co-hosted by Hannah Baltutis, grade 7, and Sr. Madeleine Gregg, fcJ, who has been a Sister for 42 years and a teacher for 46 years! Hannah is really good at art and really interested in prayer. We hope the two of us will be a great team!
