New Leadership at the FCJ Christian Life Centre

The Sisters, Faithful Companions of Jesus, are pleased to announce the following appointment at the FCJ Christian Life Centre.

  • Michelle Brennick has been appointed Executive Director
  • Whitney Nagasan has been appointed Associate Director

Michelle Brennick – new Executive Director

Michelle has been an educator for over thirty years, teaching in NS, NF and several school divisions in AB, including Calgary Catholic. In June 2006 she moved to Whitecourt where she was employed with Northern Gateway Public Schools (NGPS) as Director of Learning Services, Assistant Superintendent and Deputy Superintendent.

Michelle has worked with students to foster their growth and development; collaborated with school administrators, teachers and support staff in the areas of visioning and planning, learning outcomes, assessment, teaching strategies and methodologies, engagement and professional development; mentored aspiring leaders and novice administrators; and networked with provincial senior executive colleagues, Alberta Education team members, school trustees, parents, business and municipality leaders, post-secondary leaders and national/international educational associates. Ms. Brennick will apply many of these proven skills and techniques and her networking talents in her new role with the FCJ Centre.

Michelle holds a Master’s Degree in Administration and Supervision, as well as Bachelor Degrees in Education and Science.

Michelle will assume her new responsibilities effective Monday, March 21, 2022.


Whitney Nagasan – new Associate Director

Whitney is an experienced administrative professional in the field of higher education as well as a licensed professional teacher. Originally from the Philippines, she came to Canada in 2019. Whitney holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Xavier University-Ateneo de Cagayan. After graduation she joined Jesuit Volunteers and served for a year in an under-resourced and remote school. She was involved in fundraising, initiating social outreach programs and facilitating retreats and leadership training camps.

For 8 years, she worked for her alma mater as Student Ethics Head, Faculty Program Officer, and Assistant to the Vice President of Mission and Ministry. She has been involved with numerous committees, facilitated students’ Ignatian retreats, drafted policy papers, organized needs-based programming for student leaders as well as employees, organized university events, led outreach programs and moderated and mentored students.

Ms. Nagasan is attuned to the needs of others and loves to work with people of various cultural backgrounds. She is the current coordinator of communities for the BC and Rockies region of the Christian Life Community Canada.

Whitney will take up her role on May 2, 2022.
