In preparation for the FCJ General Chapter the delegates and ex-officio members will be in silent retreat from the evening of 8th October until lunch time on 15th. During this time some input will be given by Fr Brendan Callaghan, SJ, who will speak to us each morning. There is also the opportunity for individual spiritual direction for those sisters who wish.
There are many places for prayer in and around Ladywell Franciscan Retreat Centre. The Franciscan sisters have made their own beautiful chapel available for those who prefer to pray in a more spacious setting. The Assisi Chapel offers a cool, calm ambiance and the Creation Chapel is a bright room decorated with plants, pictures of outer space and has the Canticle of Creation in large script on one wall. For those who prefer a more intimate setting the Tau Chapel, with permanent exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, overlooking the Ladywell drive with a lovely view at any time of the year.
Sisters who prefer to pray outside have freedom to find a quiet place somewhere in the vast green expanse of the grounds. The newly developed Canticle Corner is a water feature offering the opportunity to pray outside to the sound of running water.
Ladywell Centre abounds with places in which to meet God.
As we move into silence and prayer, we take all of you and the needs of our world with us.
Please pray for us as we pray for you.
