Across the Waves
A chara,

Greetings from Spanish Point this bank holiday weekend to celebrate Brigid.
We are blessed in Ireland that, as John O Donohue says so beautifully, there is no row, no barrier, between the worlds. We can greet the Celtic Goddess Bridget and the Celtic Christian Saint Brigid, knowing they are all pointing us to the one Creator God who loves us all. So we celebrate this weekend the feminine aspect of the Divine – the girl, the nurturer and the wise elder. As we step into Spring we give thanks to the one who carried us through the harshest parts of the winter and look towards the warmth with stirrings of Spring. And we give thanks for St Brigid who teaches us what a follower of God looks like and loves like.
We started this year well in An Teach Spioradálta with Colette Kane leading us in a fantastic reflection about the Celtic Cosmic year, which helped us to see ourselves as part of this beautiful turning planet and universe. Jane Mellett brought the Christian Ashram experience again and it was a profound few days for all involved in the still and gentle meditations. We also had a gorgeous evening welcoming St Brigid, where we created ‘Brat Bhride’ or cloths to leave out on Brigids eve for her blessing. Rita led us beautifully in blessing what we had made and each other, as children of God – sharing in the blessings given to us.
There are so many great things coming up this Spring, both in evening/Saturday events and in residential weekends. We notice that many locals are now attending weekends too, non residential, which is lovely. We really want you to be a part of all that is happening. If you’d like to join us for any event, please do contact us. We can work out the details together and make a space for you to ‘find God in all things’ here in Spanish Point. You can contact us by emailing/texting us on 087 447 9115 or [email protected]
God bless
