An anticipated feast!This morning I had the pleasure of attending the Feast Day Mass at one of our FCJ Secondary Schools here in Liverpool: Bellerive FCJ. The school Feast Day is the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, and the tradition is that the school celebrates on the nearest Friday to the Feast. So today was the day! It was a beautiful celebration with great participation from the students (there were approximately 500 students in the Mass I attended)....

Camino Companions is a project from the FCJ Sisters in Europe based in the Pilgrims Office, the welcome centre for pilgrims of the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela, Spain. The project relies on a wide team of volunteers from all over the world. Volunteers include FCJ Sisters, FCJ Companions in Mission and pilgrims the team has met over the years. The fast-paced and noisy nature of much of life seems to leave us with a desire for something deeper, calmer and more subtle. We intuitively sense that there is more to life than the surface busyness, and we long to access that which provides meaning and purpose to the outward activity. I regularly give workshops on theme of discernment; teaching some basic principles, and giving an opportunity for people to deepen their own understanding of the ways in which we can be in touch with the presence and action of God in our everyday lives, and in the decisions and choices we face....

FCJ Sisters in Indonesia, are celebrating twenty years of presence in the Archdiocese of Ende, in the island of Flores. One of the events to mark the anniversary has been a workshop to encourage people to care for the earth, our shared home. Laurel Hill Coláiste FCJ students are getting ready for the school's 90th anniversary. As a vocations director for a religious congregation in Europe I often get asked whether there are still people interested in the vocation to religious life. The simple answer is YES , but it is also true that both the question and answer are more nuanced in reality. CERTAINLY I believe that God is still calling women and men to live their vocation in religious life....
