When the school opened in 1925, the Sisters Faithful Companions of Jesus educated immigrant, first- and second-generation children from Ireland and other European countries. Over the decades, Blessed Sacrament School families prospered, and working-class kids went on to college and beyond.”

FCJ Postdoctoral Research Associate in the History of CatholicismThe CCS (Durham University, UK) is advertising for a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the History of Catholicism, in partnership with the Faithful Companions of Jesus (FCJ).This is a 2-year research post investigating the history of the Faithful Companions of Jesus in the UK from 1830 to the present day.Applications will be considered from candidates whose background lies across a range of disciplines. The FCJ Postdoctoral Research Associate will produce a book-length study of the FCJ’s two centuries of work in the UK.Successful applicants will, ideally, be in post by 1 October 2025.
