Celebrating 20 Years of FCJ Presence in Ende

FCJ Sisters in Indonesia, are celebrating twenty years of presence in the Archdiocese of Ende, in the island of Flores. One of the events to mark the anniversary has been a workshop in collaboration with PSE KAE Development House to encourage people to care for the earth, our shared home. Participants learned to make eco-friendly soap from used cooking oil waste led by the now expert hands of Sisters Meita and Tyas fcJ

There was time to discuss the causes and reasons for climate change, environmental pollution and its impacts, and concrete actiosn we can do to reduce our environmental impact. The workshop offered training in processing home organic waste into environmentally friendly products, in particular converting used cooking oil into eco-friendly soap using eco enzymes, a product obtained from fermenting fruit and vegetable peels for 3 months.

Each small step becomes a blessing, a manifestation of our love for the world, protecting the environment and giving thanks to God.

FCJ Sistets have lived in Ende now for twenty years bringing love, bringing Jesus to the world. May today’s training be useful and increase our love for the earth and the universe.

„We want to help each other continually reflect on how our decisions about our lifestyle, both small and large, affect the earth and the poorest people on earth.
