Dear Friends of the FCJ Christian Life Centre,
March invites us to slow down and notice. The days are getting a little longer. The earth is slowly waking up from winter. In the Catholic Church, we begin the sacred season of Lent, a season that asks us not to rush, but to pay attention to what is happening in our hearts.
This year, the Laudato Si‘ Movement invites us into Lent with the theme: Returning to the Heart. It is a simple but deep call: to come back to God, to what is true within us, and to how we care for our common home.
Lent is a time to begin again. Through prayer, simple living, and generosity, we learn to love as Jesus loves. We try to listen to God, to others, and to the quiet voice within.
In the Ignatian tradition, prayer begins with noticing. Where do I feel at peace? Where do I feel restless? What gives me life? What drains me? Lent gives us time to ask these questions and to trust that God is gently guiding us.
In his message for Lent 2026, Pope Leo XIV invites us “to pray for the grace of a Lent that helps us listen more closely to God.”

Here at the FCJ Centre, you are also invited to step away for a while.
A private retreat is a simple gift of time and space. You may come with questions, tiredness, hope, or a need for quiet.
