In 2026 FCJ Companions in Mission are celebrating the Silver Jubilee of their foundation on 2 January 2001. Under the theme The Golden Thread that Unites Us, various events and projects are planned across the world to celebrate and grow in awareness of the Golden Thread that Unites us in Jesus.
As the year began, FCJ Companions in Mission and FCJ Sisters came together in a spirit of gratitude, prayer and a desire to recognise and celebrate our international unity. Participants represented Australia, Asia, Europe, and the Americas, and included those who were part of the very first CiM Formation Group in Broadstairs, England in 2001, as well as those nearing the end of their formation and wishing to commit in September 2026.
The group focused on a prayer written for the Jubilee Year by Ann Rennie, Companion in Mission from Melbourne:
Prayer For Companions in Mission to Celebrate 25 Years
Lord Jesus, Our most Faithful Companion,
In gratitude, we thank you and your blessed Mother, Mary, for watching over, guiding and protecting us as we have travelled this road of Companionship with the Sisters, Faithful Companions of Jesus.
Bless all companions, past and present and those who will take up the mission to further the story and charism of the Venerable Marie Madeleine d’Houët, a woman of great courage and confidence.
Give us the grace to continue telling her story, and live out, in our own unique ways, as she did, our love of God the Father, and our love of neighbour and stranger.
Bless each Companion and grant us Your Spirit of Generosity in offering our gifts and talents to build the Kingdom. Open us to the working of Your Spirit in our lives and new ways of being together and building community as we go forward.
Let the Spirit of all that is holy hover over us, lifting and enlightening us as we seek to do your will.
We ask for peace, mercy and justice in our world and the strengthening of our own bonds of Companionship.
Bless us as we celebrate our first twenty-five years. We take heart and celebrate all that has been achieved so far and look ahead in hope, ready to be inspired by your love. Energise in us the gifts of creativity and calm.
Help us grow in our understanding of what it means to be a Companion in Mission and our commitment to living out the charism of the Faithful Companions of Jesus in our lives.
We ask this through you, Christ, our Lord.
