Welcome Summer!
Summer invites us to slow down and notice where God is moving in our lives. In the middle of all our daily noise and demands, this season gives us a welcome chance to pause, look around, and simply rest in God’s presence.
If you are looking for a place to find that quiet, you are always welcome at the FCJ Centre. Come walk on our grounds, sit by the Elbow River, or find a moment of stillness in our meditation garden, labyrinth, or grotto.
If you want to go a bit deeper, this summer is a wonderful time to consider a private retreat. It’s a space set apart for prayer, rest, and listening, with all the support and guidance the Centre has to offer.
We hope this season brings a gentle awareness of God already at work in your ordinary, everyday moments, drawing you into greater freedom and love.

SPIRITUAL DIRECTION TRAINING PROGRAM
We are excited to announce the call for the new cohort for our two-year Spiritual Direction Training Program (SDTP). This program is open to anyone interested in exploring a call to the ministry of spiritual direction desiring to accompany others on their spiritual journeys. Ignatian Spirituality Month
July also celebrates Ignatian Month. Rooted in the teachings of St. Ignatius of Loyola, Ignatian spirituality focuses on a deep personal relationship with God, discernment, and a commitment to service. At the FCJ Centre, inspired by the FCJ Sisters, we live by the principle of “Finding God in All Things” and strive to serve God in all our encounters.
- Mid-week reflections: Listen to Sr Ann Marie Walsh, FCJ as she shares Ignatian wisdom and reflections.
- Private Retreats (Directed or Non-directed): Find time for yourself to pause, rest, and reconnect with your inner selves in our peaceful setting.
- 31 Days with St Ignatius of Loyola: We invite you to explore a helpful online resource dedicated to St. Ignatius of Loyola and the tradition of Ignatian spirituality. This site offers a gentle introduction to Ignatius’ life and spiritual wisdom, along with practical ways of praying and discerning God’s presence in everyday life. Whether you are new to Ignatian spirituality or seeking to deepen your practice, you will find accessible reflections on key themes such as the Examen, discernment of spirits, and learning to “find God in all things.” We hope this resource supports your ongoing journey of prayer, reflection, and spiritual growth, wherever you may find yourself this season.
