Walking for Life in the Philippines

On 19 February, the FCJ community in Manila attended a Walk for Life in Quezon Memorial Circle, which was organized by a prominent lay organization in the Philippines. This Walk for Life is a yearly event that celebrates and promotes the culture of life in society, advocating against extra-judicial killings, abortions, and other anti-life practices in society.

Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle celebrated the mass that was the capstone of the event. In his homily he urged us to ensure that every level of society – the family, community and larger society – is a space where life is nurtured and where everyone can find the support that they need to grow. As election season approaches, he also encouraged the faithful to choose leaders in whose hands the resources of society would be used and shared generously for the benefit of all.
