Knowing Ourselves, Our Strengths and Weaknesses

The SaMuda Community (FCJ Young Companions) held their second meeting in Sarasvita FCJ Center on Sunday 28th April.

The meeting opened with prayer.  This was a prayer with a difference, using music and movement.  We then watched a small video Women on Mission which introduced the FCJ Sisters and especially the Sisters in Yogyakarta.

Inspiration and challenge are part of the programme given to the members of SaMuda

During this meeting the members of SaMuda had the opportunity to get to know each other better; to build quality companionship; and to deepen their relationship with God.  The most interesting activity was getting to know ourselves by praying with our feelings and mood and expressing ourselves through color, shape or symbol.  We shared our drawings in order to get to know each other and to strengthen our friendship.

We played some games together, the purpose of which were to enable us to know ourselves and each other, our strengths and weaknesses. In addition to playing games we also shared on the thanksgiving prayer we had been practicing daily for the last month.  Our exercise of being grateful for whatever happens each day gradually deepened our awareness of being loved by God and our relationship with God.

Anjelina Miyenfa, a member of SaMuda is very happy with the process of the meetings.  She is growing in awareness of how important it is to know and accept the strengths and weaknesses of each person.

My hope is that I will be helped to grow in faith and that I will grow in the Three Pillars of SaMuda: companionship, spirituality and service.
