United in Prayer: Celebrating 25 Years of Companions in Mission

FCJ Companions in Mission around the world are planning celebrations of the 25th anniversary. Mary, Companion in Mission from Australia, writes about a recent online meeting

On Friday 2 January 2026 at 11.00 pm (AEST), FCJ Sisters and Companions in Mission (CiM) gathered online to mark the beginning of the Companions in Mission Jubilee Year, celebrating 25 years since CiM foundation. Meeting across countries and cultures, participants came together in a spirit of gratitude, prayer and international unity.

Central to the gathering was a moving Jubilee Prayer composed by CiM Ann Rennie. The prayer gave thanks for the guidance of Jesus and Mary, honoured the courage and charism of Venerable Marie Madeleine d’Houët and celebrated all companions, past, present and future, who continue this living story of faith. The prayer called for humility, creativity, peace, justice and a renewed commitment to Gospel living through love and companionship of God and neighbour.

As companions reflected on achievements and future challenges, the prayer energised hope, deepened bonds of companionship and set a purposeful tone for the next chapter of CiM’s shared journey.
