Camino Companions Celebrates 10 Years

Submitted by Sr Katherine fcJ, from Camino Companions, a project from the FCJ Sisters in Europe based in the Pilgrims Office, the welcome centre for pilgrims of the Cathedral of Santiago.

We’re celebrating 10 years of Camino Companions this year!! Thank you to all who encouraged us throughout the years. We are very grateful to the Camino Society Ireland who fund accommodation for our fourth volunteer throughout the season. Your friendship and support have been a blessing. We were touched to receive the plaque on the photo from CSI commemorating our 10 years.

Thanks too to all our volunteers who’ve welcomed and listened to pilgrims over the ten years. Your commitment and generosity have been a gift. We couldn’t have continued the welcome service without you!!

Our appreciation also to Fr. Manny Domingo who warmly welcomes us back each year to collaborate in welcoming pilgrims to Mass in English.

And of course thank you to the many many pilgrims who’ve shared their precious Camino experiences with us. We have been blessed to be a part of your lives even for an hour.

Finally thank you to the Faithful Companions of Jesus who have supported us and enabled us to be here! Ultreia!!!
