Padayon sa Paglaum – Keep Hope

Submitted by Sr Rowena fcJ, from the FCJ Community in Cagayan de Oro

The Association of Women Religious in the Archdiocese of Cagayan De Oro (AWRACO) and the Archdiocesan Vocation Promoters conducted a Jubilee Concert of Vocation and Mission at the USTP Gymnasium, University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines. The theme was Padayon sa Paglaum (Keep Hope).

FCJ Sisters were among the organizers (see Srs Rowena and Afra fcJ in the top photo). There were many people watching the concert, which was performed twice with a one hour break in between. The majority of those attending were young generations from different schools and parishes. The goal and desire of this was to encourage and challenge the call of God in their lives.

I asked some of the students from our school who attended how it was. They replied that they really enjoyed the show and were very happy to see such marvellous acts of talent, and the performers delivered such amazing performances. They were inspired by their lives and gifts. They realized that the life of nuns and priests is not boring, rather it’s full of fun and fantastic. Hopefully, this has touched and helped them in their faith journey. We will continue to hope, yearning that young people will courageously respond to God’s call.

The income from the concert was distributed to the different ministries of the Archdiocese of Cagayan de Oro and the Association of Women Religious in the Archdiocese of Cagayan de Oro, Cebu relief help, Vocation Ministry and for ongoing formation of sisters and struggling communities.
