Genazzano Receives two Excellence Australian Education Awards

Australian Education Awards 2020 to Genazzano FCJ College

Genazzano FCJ College has received two Excellence Awards for School Principal of the Year  (Non-government), to School Principal Karen Webb, and Best Professional Learning Program.

These awards demonstrate the College’s commitment to educating young women and providing an environment that leverages their strengths, talents and potential.

The Australian Education Awards bring together hundreds of education leaders, recognising star performers in the K-12 sector. Across 25 categories, the Awards recognise schools, principals, department heads and teachers for their achievements.

Genazzano was a finalist in four categories, so to be recognised with two Excellence Awards is an exciting achievement shares Principal, Ms Karen Jebb: “We are overjoyed to have won these prestigious awards… Being recognised in these two areas is a real highlight, especially following the extraordinary year we have had… Congratulations to all the teachers and support staff at Genazzano who have contributed to our success and ongoing delivery of world class programs. A Genazzano education is a wonderful gift and it’s a true team effort to make sure the academic and wellbeing needs of our students are met”.

The Excellence Award for School Principal of the Year – Non-government acknowledges the extraordinary leadership and achievements of Ms Karen Jebb, Genazzano FCJ College Principal. Ms Jebb has shown exemplary commitment to the pastoral care of all Genazzano’s students and has succeeded in improving educational outcomes and the financial position of the College during her tenure.

The College has also been recognised for its Professional Learning Program, Science of Learning: Improving Educational Outcomes, which is designed and delivered by internationally renowned neuroscientist, teacher and author, Dr Jared Cooney Horvath. Now in its third year, the program is an initiative of the Institute of Learning & Brain Sciences, led by Director, Catherine Brandon.
