Time to Pause

As part of the transition from the time of retreat to the Chapter, some of the capitulars used the day to take personal space, others took time for recreation.

Some of the sisters undertook further preparations, others stayed quietly in Ladywell, while others took the opportunity to go further afield.

Several sisters walked down to the local town, Godalming, and a group visited Winkworth Arboretum and enjoyed walking among the trees.

A small group went firstly to visit the ancient city of Chichester and the nine hundred and fifty-year-old cathedral before moving on to Bognor Regis where the FCJs lived and ministered in the 1920’s.

The last group made the long journey to Broadstairs, a much-loved place, where the FCJs were based for ninety-nine years.  We shared our experiences over the evening meal before we departed for a quiet night in preparation for the following day.
