Sr Madeleine fcJ, who is part of the team at the Ignatius Jesuit Centre in Guelph, Ontario, will be hosting an online program: EcoProphets.
EcoProphets is a four-program series. Each episode is one hour long and explore the lives and work of influential ecological thinkers and practitioners. They are people whose prophetic vision and work show us ways to understand and care for the Earth and invite us to make practical and spiritual connections between humans, ecosystems, and all the beings on our planet.
Programs run monthly between March and June 2026:
- April 9: Bill Mollison and David Holmgren, the co-originators of permaculture.
- May 7: Vandana Shiva, An Ontario-educated Indian scholar, her productive life has encompassed environmental activism and food sovereignty advocacy from an ecofeminist and anti-globalization perspective.
- June 11: Pierre Teilhard de Chardin. His blend of science and mysticism once viewed with suspicion, his vision is now widely seen as a vital and prophetic voice in conversations about sustainability and humanity’s relationship with the Earth.
