A London podcast,Β Other Lives are Available, dips into the lives of everyday people around East London – their thoughts, their experiences, their take on life. Each episode is recorded in a different place, wherever host David finds people who say ‘yeah why not?’ to a conversation.
David has recently recorded an interview withΒ Sr Christine Frost fcJ from the FCJ community in Poplar and volunteers at Neighbours In Poplar, a group of people of all ages from all sorts of social and cultural backgrounds representing the faith and non-faith groups in Tower Hamlets, in the East End of London. In 2019 they celebrated their 50th birthday and were honoured with the Queenβs Award for Voluntary Service, the highest award a voluntary group can receive in the UK.
The episode description says:Β A group of local volunteers at St Matthias Community Centre who meet each week to prepare food for those in need. “The Disconnect is a big, big word today, within families, within communities, between the young and the old… It’s about connecting, we have to do things to connect people.
