Summer greetings to you, our dear friends of FCJ Christian Life Centre!
As we enjoy these final warm weeks of late summer, we look ahead to the upcoming Season of Creation 2026, a time of grace extended to all humanity through the Church’s ecumenical dialogue. The global celebration runs from September 1st (Feast of Creation) to October 4th (Feast of St. Francis of Assisi), the patron saint of ecology.
Embracing the spirit of St. Francis of Assisi and the Jubilee Year of St. Francis, this year’s theme, Living Water, draws inspiration from Ezekiel’s vision of a life-giving stream flowing to restore the land (“Where the river flows everything will live” – Ezekiel 47:9). During the coming month, we are called to listen deeply to the cry of the earth and the cry of the poor, responding with concrete steps that nurture hope and sustain life for generations to come.
In response to this call, the FCJ Centre, through its Faith in Action/ Laudato Si’ Committees, invites our wider community to journey together in ecological conversion, practical action, and hope-filled engagement for our common home through the Season of Creation programs listed below.
The need for these ‘living waters’ is felt deeply in our own country today. As smoky skies remind us of the fragility of our common home, we hold in prayer all those facing the threat of wildfire.
We are also thrilled to launch our Fall and Winter 2026 Program Guide! Beyond our Season of Creation events, this season’s lineup offers a rich variety of retreat experiences, spiritual growth opportunities, personal development workshops, and guided prayer and meditation. Rooted in faith formation, inner reflection, and ecological conversion, our programs invite you to deepen your connection with God, community, and creation.

Lastly, we invite you to join us for afternoon tea on Sunday, September 20, 2026, at 2:00 PM for our Annual Tea Party Fundraiser. Help us replace our 14-year-old, second-hand cargo van, a vital workhorse on the road weekly for groceries, retreat supplies, and community events. Our goal is to raise $50,000 toward the $80,000 cost of a new Ford cargo van to keep our daily ministry running safely and reliably. For further information, please visit fcjcentre.ca/teaparty
