The General Chapter spent a very fruitful Monday morning with Sue Cawley and Lisa Gilead, Companions in Mission, as they shared their experience of the evolution and growth of CiM since Lisa’s appointment in 2020 and Sue’s appointment in 2023 as International Coordinators for Companions in Mission.
They both spoke of The Golden Thread that Unites Us… and capitulars were delighted to note the flourishing of CiM throughout the world, not only in number, but also in the development of a sense of a unique identity. FCJ Sisters and Companions in Mission share the same charism and spirit, but the expression of it differs.
The discussion which followed focused on ways in which FCJ and CiM can be mutually supportive while at the same time respectful of their distinct ways of living the charism.
