On 21st September, we celebrate the birthday of Marie Madeleine, who founded the FCJ Society in France almost 200 years ago. Join us as we make a novena in her memory prepared by our sisters in the Philippines.
Day 5: In the Footsteps of Jesus
5 June 1817. On the feast of Corpus Christi, Marie Madeleine was graced with the following experience. While looking at the crucifix during the procession, she experienced Jesus saying to her, Behold the first Jesuit and the Master of them all. She took this mean that Jesus was to have first place in her heart. While the Jesuits would remain very dear to her she clearly understood that she must keep her eyes fixed on Jesus. For her, it was in his footsteps that she must follow, and in his life that she must share.
